Objective

Circular Electronics is an online marketplace for electronics, with a focus on sustainability and reducing electronic waste. The company wants to attract more customers and encourage them to use the app by creating a monthly giveaway campaign. The goal of this UX design case study is to create a sign-up page that will attract more customers and encourage them to participate in the monthly giveaway

Strategy-Driven Solution

Circular Electronics launched a monthly campaign for a year during which the company allow customers to sign up for a chance to win an iPhone 13.

The app pitches the customers on the benefits of getting the Circular Electronics app and hence getting them the chance to win in return.

User Research

 

  • Conducted surveys and interviews with existing and potential customers to understand their preferences and motivations for participating in a giveaway campaign.

  • Analyzed the sign-up pages of similar campaigns to understand their strengths and weaknesses.

Key Insights

  • Users are attracted to giveaways that are relevant to their interests, such as electronics, sustainability, or technology.

  • Users want the sign-up process to be simple and quick, without requiring too much personal information.

  • Users are more likely to participate in a giveaway if they feel that their chances of winning are high.

Design Solution

  • A clean and simple sign-up page that focuses on the benefits of participating in the giveaway campaign.

  • A clear and concise headline that communicates the value proposition of the campaign, such as "Win a Brand New IPhone 13!"

  • A form that asks for minimal personal information, such as name and email address.

  • A message that confirms the user's sign-up and provides details about the giveaway, such as the date of the drawing and the selection process.

  • Social proof elements, such as customer reviews and testimonials, to build trust and credibility with users.

  • A footer that includes links to the company's social media pages and a brief overview of the company's mission and values.

Evaluation

  • User testing with existing and potential customers to evaluate the effectiveness and ease of use of the sign-up page.

  • A/B testing to determine the preferred headline, form fields, and social proof elements.

  • Analytics to track sign-up rates and identify areas for improvement.

Outcome

  • The sign-up page received positive feedback from users, who appreciated its simplicity and transparency.

  • The headline "Win a Brand New IPhone 13!" was effective in attracting users who were interested in electronics and sustainability.
